About Us - Our Worship Experiences

Worship is at the very core of synagogue life and Congregation Beth Israel offers a variety of worship experiences to match you family's needs. Led by Rabbi David M. Weis and Cantor Larisa Averbakh, the services are among the more traditional in the Reform movement, weaving of Hebrew and English, songs, music and chanting throughout the worship service.

Kabbalat Shabbat Services are each Friday at 5:30 p.m except for the last Friday of the month; Tot Shabbat is at 5:30pm and Shabbat Services are at 7:30pm. Periodically Shabbat services are enhanced by the music of our adult and children's choirs.

Fiddler Under the Roof Services feature dancing and singing to the accompaniment of a live band. Fiddler Under the Roof is the third Friday of each month. Services begin at 5:30 p.m.

Tot Shabbat Services are held the last Friday of the month for our youngest members and their families. These age appropriate services feature worship through music, movement and storytelling. Services begin at 5:30 and are followed by Shabbat dinner and a craft project.

Shabbat morning Services begin at 10:30 a.m. every Saturday morning.

Torah study meets each Shabbat morning at 9:15 am in the Cohen Library.
