For generations, Beth Israel's Sisterhood has been the backbone of our congregation. Through their
work they have dedicated themselves and the funds that they raise to our Temple family. Each
year "holiday care packages" are sent to all of our prep school and college students.
Our Sisterhood offers stipends for NFTY programs as well as our local Panin el Panim
experience in Washington D.C. Their programming is diverse, from dinners to
museum trips, book reviews to ceramics and this year to authoring a cookbook.
Meetings rotate from daytime to evening; there is a time and place for every female in the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Israel.
Our youth programming begins in grade 4 and continues through the completion of high school. Under the direction of Susan Weis our youth practice social action to tikkun olam. Their experiences through retreats at the URJ Camp Harlam to NFTY Summer Programs in Europe and Israel entrench Judaism throughout their lives. Lifelong friendships begin in Temple youth groups.
